That’s it! We have finished our ERASMUS + long term EVS. There are lot of things to says in an article. To sum up, the work at library, the eco-clubs at Palsmane and Bilska school and the permaculture workshops were our main tasks from professional perspective, but local choir PAKALNI gave us chance to taste latvian culture and traditions. The song and dance festival was an amazing closing of our involvement in Latvian society. During our ten month project, We had a chance to use our skills and to work on new ones. In addition to this, the project gave us a great experience working and living together as colleagues and complementarity between both of us, which allowed us to run nice projects (like the eco-club activities, the Europe day at library, the EVS permaculture party, etc.) and to sing nice songs…
But EVS is not just about skills, but we would say that it’s more to learn about yourself and about sharing with others. For sure we have changed, and now feel more confident, open-minded, open to differences and different ways of living… and we feel more Latvian. Indeed, we sang in the Smiltene’s Pakalni members and shared enjoyable time with them, we participated to the mask festival in Karsava, latgale novads, we celebrated name days, we offered and have been offered flowers… a lot of flowers… we ate kanepe everywhere, we drank balzams, we learnt not to put money in the hand of another people anymore, we learnt Latvian language, and we bring with us nice memories from all people we met during this life experience. We hope to see all of you again!
